September 11, 2025, 10:00 AM – Welcome: CREATING A CHEER MUG
Mary Ann Feldheim, our own Cheer Mug Chairman, will teach us how to make this traditional bouquet. Floral design elements will be discussed, and everyone will be making a Cheer Mug for themself or someone they know who has a need for one! WPGC will supply all the necessary components… Mugs, flowers, greenery and oasis.(Now that you know how, please sign up to volunteer to help create our monthly Cheer Mugs! It is a wonderful way to meet your fellow members)

October 8, 2025 – 10:00 AM – THE ART OF IKEBANA
A demonstration of Ikebana, the ancient Japanese art of floral arrangement—emphasizing harmony, balance and minimalism. More than just a decoration: it is a spiritual practice that connects the practitioner with nature through careful selection and arrangement of flowers, branches and other natural materials.

November 12, 2025 – 9:00 AM-3:00 PM – FALL FOR THE PUMPKINS 
“Fairy” Pumpkins, usually at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods, are perfect for showing off succulents—or bring a faux pumpkin if you wish. Susan Ashby will guide us to place plants for the best composition. A variety of texture, color, height, and space will be demonstrated. You will leave with an ultimate fall decoration that will last thru the season.

December 9, 2025 – 10:00 AM – Ignore Kermit! It’s easy to be Green this Season!
Let’s have a Green Holiday using evergreen conifers, such as spruce, pine or fir. Construct your take home mini tree with fresh greens to which you may add fresh flowers, ornaments, or ribbons. Enjoy the holiday spirit with a light meal provided by the Board.

January 14, 2026 – 10:00 AM – Pollinators in the Garden
The Winter Park Library has a new Pollinator Garden! Heather Kalaman from the Orange County Extension will speak to us about how the garden was planned, planted and now maintained. We will learn why pollinators are so important.

February 11, 2026 – 10:00AM – Fall in Love with African Violets
Our Valentine presentation is African Violets 101! We will lean about the many varieties and how to care for “Sweet Violet’s” voluptuous blossoms and lush velvety leaves.
This plant is known for symbolizing loyalty and admiration… so enjoy taking one home! A Welcome Tea Party to celebrate new members—and old as well—for joining our Garden Club is a tradition we all enjoy.

March 11, 2026 – 10:00 AM – TASTE THE DIFFERENCE: SAVOR NATURE’S HERBS
Containers, a raised flower bed, or hydroponic, herbs subtly enhance the taste of foods. Our local Towns Garden Center will present the program on growing and cooking with herbs. The Hospitality hostesses plan to treat us with tidbits featuring herbs. Pure Herbal Happiness!

April 8, 2026 – 10:00 AM – SPRING FLOWERS… POT-ET-FLEUR
President Martha Clouse will share her knowledge of various flowers and plants, plus her suggestions to guide you to make your own Pot-et-Fleur.

May 13, 2026 – 10:00 AM – MAGIC WITH FRUIT—CREATING GARNISHES
Member, Myrna Ossin, will demonstrate how to cut fruit- and vegetables- into flowers to add a flourish to your food presentation.
Enjoy celebrating the Installation of new officers with a salad luncheon.

August 16, 2023, at 10 a.m. Indulge in a Sundae for Breakfast and Bunco Party at Azalea Lodge 1300 S. Denning Drive, Winter Park, FL 32789  Prizes to take home for winners and a loser!

September 6, 2023, 10 a.m. Class:  Make a Cheer Mug to take home to enjoy or give to a friend! Take pleasure in a Pot-luck Salad Luncheon.  Please bring your own mug from home. (Try to bring mugs without any writing on them.)  The salad luncheon will be provided by members with last names starting with A to M.

October 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. Program: Orchids…so many varieties! Which are ideal for my home? And what to do to bring my old one back to prime condition? An Orchid “fancier” will explain, show, and guide us in selecting orchids, their care, and how to repot them.  Bring your old Orchid!

November 8, 2023, at 10 a.m.  Program:  The Art of Making Bows presented by Carol Wolfe, WPGC Member and a professional flower designer for over 20 years will show us how to make beautiful bows.  Quality ribbon and chenille will be provided; all you need to do is to sign-up by November 1st and bring along your scissors from home. (Don’t bring your favorite scissors as some of the ribbons have wire in them and please tape your name to the handle, so they don’t get lost.)

December 13, 2023, at 10 a.m.  Class: Embellish your Forever Wreath to be hung on a door or used as a centerpiece. Bring your ribbons and scissors. The Garden Club will provide the wreath, fresh flowers, and water picks. Plan to take home an exquisite holiday decoration!

Winter Park Garden Club 2024 Calendar

January 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. Program: Gardening in a Changing Climate by Calvin Gardner, who is an Urban Residential Horticulture Agent at the University of Florida. He teaches homeowners how to grow and care for plants, front lawns, backyard gardens, and indoor houseplants. Calvin studied at the University of Florida and received a degree in sustainable development and spent a year studying USDA certified organic crop production.

February 14, 2024, at 10 a.m. Wine Spritzers and Roses for Valentine’s Day. Design a  fresh floral Valentine to take with you  while receiving step by step guidance while sipping a favorite beverage.

February 28, 2024, at 2 p.m.: Reception for Potential WPGC members and Orientation for New WPGC Members

March 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. Class: A Tisket, A Tasket, A basket full of flowers you get to design, with help if wanted. The Garden Club will provide a basket, fresh flowers, ribbon, and assistance! Please bring your scissors and clippers.

April 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. Program: Edible Flowers, Learn which flowers to select and how to prep and prepare before serving.

Annual meeting and election of officers.  Savor a Pot-luck Salad luncheon featuring “edible flowers”.

May 2, 2024, at 10 a.m.  Program: Annual report and installation of new officers. Enjoy a Luncheon to celebrate our 101 Birthday!  Surprise Location to be announced.
