“Gardening Alone /Together”
Welcome to our 2020-2021 garden club year! Thanks to Covid-19, our theme this year will be “Gardening Alone/Together.” The officers of our club were all installed facing new challenges and having to plan for a garden club year like none before while dealing with a pandemic. Taking cues from many other groups and clubs, we are going to try to meet virtually using the Zoom platform. We are going to create challenges for members on a monthly basis in horticulture, floral design, landscape design, or conservation/wildlife. We have found YouTube shorts that can provide programs each month. We will sometimes send out filmed reports from members like the president. This is not ideal. We cannot see people and just talk to them on an informal basis at a meeting where everyone is in the same room. But we can still participate in garden club activities as a group. I challenge us all to try to do our best in our new world, as long as we have to keep social distancing and cannot have group meetings indoors, even with masks. Thank you all for stepping up to help to keep our club a vital presence, even if it’s done virtually. The public will also be able to participate in some of our activities as we share our programs and activities on Facebook and on our website.
My thanks to you all! Keep safe!
Cynthia Pesch, President
